- Description
- The United States Government has a continuing requirement to obtain the services of mobile food catering services to provide appetizing, nutritionally well balanced hot meals, sack lunches, hot and cold can meals, fresh food boxes, and supplemental food items at various field locations during wildland fire and other types of activities throughout the United States and Alaska. This service shall include, but is not necessarily limited to, all labor and equipment necessary to provide the full realm of mobile food services, including complete management, control, purchase, receipt, storage, issue, handling, processing, packaging, preparation, food serving, and clean-up. Mobile food service units will be required to operate in a variety of urban, rural, or remote and semi-remote wilderness areas. This posting serves as our request to all interested parties for comments and/or suggestions regarding the future specifications to fulfill the Government?s needs for mobile food services. The USDA, Forest Service, Washington Office of Acquisition Management, Fire & Aviation Support Branch located at the National Interagency Fire Center anticipates issuing a Solicitation Request for Proposals (RFP) Winter 2005 for the National Mobile Food Service Contract. Your comments and/or suggestions will be considered as part of the Government?s effort to draft the 2005 National Mobile Food Service Contract specifications. The due date for submission of comments and/or suggestions is Friday, October 15, 2004. Please note that there are no specifications attached for your review. Please provide comments based on prior specifications issued. Please note that this is NOT a request to submit offers/proposals. DO NOT submit offers/proposals at this time. If you are an interested vendor capable of providing the services described and you would like to submit an offer in response to a future RFP, please continue to monitor the Federal Business Opportunities website for the Pre-Solicitation Notice to be posted at a later date.
