- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Center for Health Statistics, has a requirement for the analysis and review of DXA total body, proximal femur, and lumbar spine scan images, including quality control scan images, using Hologic Discovery A or Discovery W QDR software versions. Experience with the Discovery software is required. The contractor will provide personnel with expertise in body composition and bone density scan image analysis and quality control evaluation of scans collected on Hologic 4500A fan-beam densitometers in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). The contractor will analyze total body scans for total and regional bone mineral and soft tissue composition, and femur and spine scans for total and regional bone mineral. The contractor must use standardized criteria for evaluating all scans. Personnel with expertise in use of DXA also will review participant and quality control scans to ensure that scan acquisition by the NHANES field staff is acceptable. The continuous NHANES is a nationally representative survey visiting 15 survey sites each year, collecting health and nutrition information on a diverse population of about 5,000 individuals annually. The period of performance will be award through March 2011, and the Government intends to issue a fixed price requirements contract for a base period and six options. Solicitation 2004-N-01496 will be available on or about September 29, 2004, and proposals are due by November 2, 2004. No telephone requests will be accepted. Written requests may be sent to the above address, faxed to (412) 386-6429, or sent via e-mail to fbb4@cdc.gov. Offerors may obtain a copy of the RFP via the internet at www.eps.gov. All responsible sources with appropriate capabilites may submit a proposal which will be considered by the agency.
