- Description
- The U.S. Army Chemical Materials Agency is seeking a dialogue with industry to discuss innovative and environmentally sound methods of transferring some or all of its ownership of a stockpile of Decontamination Solution Number 2 (DS2) to industry for reuse/reprocessing. The DS2 stockpile is stored at a Hazardous Material Enclave located at the former Seneca Army Depot in Romulus, New York. DS2 is composed of 70% Diethylenetriamine, 28% Ethylene Glycol Monomethyl Ether, and 2% NaOH. Approximately 1. 7 million gallons of DS2 are in storage and are contained in 4 DOT shippable configurations (total packaged gross weight of 22 million pounds). The material is approximately 16 years old and is being offered to industry because the Army is now employing a lternate decontaminating solutions. The Government would like to transfer the DS2 to industry as quickly as possible. The actual amount to be transferred and its schedule for removal from the Enclave site could be negotiable. This is a market survey and not a contracting action. Interested parties should contact Charles A. Comaty, 410-436-3750, e-mail: charles.comaty@apg.army.mil
