Description

The USDA, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service intends to negotiate a sole source contract utilizing commercial item acquisition procedures under the authority of FAR Part 12 with IBM Corporation, 6710 Rockledge Drive, Bethesda, MD 20817 for IBM Education Card (Qty 1) and IBM Corporate Education Pass (Qty. 2). The IBM Education Card gives one person unlimited IBM Education for one full year on designated IBM IT Education Services public courses and IBM IT Education Services U.S. Technical Conferences. The IBM Education Card includes but is not limited to premium offerings such as pSeries or RS/6000, AIX, Cisco and Linux. The IBM Corporate Education Pass allows for up to eight individual passes. The IBM Education Card and Education Pass provides access to over 1,000 courses and technical conferences offered across the country, week in and month out. The Card allows users to find the training at a location and time that?s convenient for the user. The Government believes that only one responsible source can provide the supplies/services that will satisfy the agency requirement. The contractor holds the proprietary hardware, engineering and software date. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes but responses received on or before 12:00 NOON EST, September 23, 2004 will be evaluated. A determination by the Contracting Officer not to compete this proposed action based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. Information received will be considered solely for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. (The APHIS infrastructure is an IBM infrastructure. Therefore, all hardware/software must be compatible with this infrastructure.)
