Description
The Government has a requirement for activation of lead acid submarine batteries (Trident, Seawolf, and Los Angeles and Virginia class). A fixed-price contract modification to extend the ordering period of the current Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract with Exide Technologies, Kankakee, IL is anticipated. The estimated number of batteries to be activated in this additional year is 15. A fixed-price contract modification is anticipated. A qualification requirement exists and Exide Technologies, Kankakee, IL is currently the only qualified vendor. Delivery will be FOB origin. Inspection and acceptance testing will be at origin. The applicable NAICS Classification is 335912 and the size standard is 1000 employees. See numbered Note 26 (FAR Part 12 not applicable) and numbered Note 23 (qualification requirement exists).
