Description

The U.S. Library of Congress intends to award a sole source fixed price purchase order using Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Pt.13, to Biblioteca Italiana per i Ciechi, under the authority of FAR Part 6. The National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (NLS/BPH)maintains a collection of braille music scores that are distributed to approximately 750,000 blind and handicapped patrons. This proposed purchase is for thirty-seven (37) braille music scores. The Library of Congress knows of no other vendors that can produce braille copies of the music scores that meet NLS/BPH specification. No solicitation or request for quote (RFQ) is available. Notwithstanding, any firm believing it is capable of meeting this requirement as stated herein may submit a written response to this notice via email. A determination not to compete the proposed purchase order based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
