Description

The Government intends to award a contract for an Adult and Young Adult book lease program as well a Children?s book subscription plan at Beale AFB, California as a direct award to Brodart Company. The contractor will provide an initial 1,600 book inventory for the Adult/Young Adult Book selection and continue with an allowance of 960 new books per year (80 new books per month). The Children?s book selection will be a subscription program that will have an allowance of approximately 180 new books per year (approximately 15 new books per month) based upon a point value system per book. This will be a sole source award ?other than full and open? under FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Needs. Brodart Company has been the current contractor for the Book Lease Program at Beale AFB since Fiscal Year 2002. Market research for that acquisition identified the Brodart as the only offeror that could provide the book lease and subscription service that was required. For the current requirement, market research has identified the Brodart Company as the only known source that can again provide the book lease and subscription plan. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 451211. The small business standard is 500 employees. This will be the only notification of of the Government?s intent for sole-source contract award. Award is anticipated to made on 1 October 2004.
