SITE VISIT MINUTES: FA4809-04-Q-5009 MXG QA FURNITURE BLDG. 4534 SEPTEMBER 22, 2004 START: 1430 END: 1600 The following subjects and questions were discussed at the September 22, 2004 site visit in Building 4534 SJAFB, N.C. for synopsis/solicitation FA4809-04-Q-5009, MXG QA Furniture: 1) MSgt William Pate of the 4MXG/MXQA started the site visit in the large conference room. a) MSgt Pate stated that he will require 34 chairs total in the conference room, 24 sled based and 10 swivel. b) MSgt Pate stated that the conference table should not be removed. 2) MSgt Pate then moved discussions to the P.I.M. office. a) MSgt Pate stated that the P.I.M. office needed 4 workstations with a workspace in the center. b) MSgt Pate stated that the office required privacy panels between each workstation. 3) MSgt Pate stated that the workstation pedestals should be fixed and extend to the floor. 4) MSgt Pate stated that Air Force personnel would remove the existing furniture. 5) The question was asked as to whether the workstation overheads should be supported on panels or on the work surfaces. a) MSgt Pate stated that the overheads would be systems furniture supported on panels. 6) MSgt Pate stated that the workstation tops should be laminate and the bases should be metal 7) MSgt Pate stated that every workstation would need file pedestals. a) MSgt Pate stated that the pedestals should be “box, box, file” in areas where only one pedestal is used. b) MSgt Pate stated that the contractor should use “file, file” pedestals where there is room. 8) MSgt Pate stated that he would like to add: articulating keyboard trays with mouse trays on each of the 30 workstations; tack board backing under all workstation overheads; and pencil drawers where there is available space for such. 9) MSgt Pate stated that he would like the panel underneath the marker board in the Inspector’s office. Approximately a 32” high panel would be used. 10) MSgt Pate stated that the Flight Chiefs office should have one workstation. a. MSgt Pate stated that the other desk should be removed and replaced with a sofa. 11) MSgt Pate stated that he wants the same color and material on all 30 workstations. 12) MSgt Pate stated that he would like the privacy panel in the O.I.C. office to step down in height as it comes from the wall. 13) MSgt Pate stated that these workstations and furniture would be installed in phases. a) MSgt Pate stated that the contractor could deliver all the furniture on the first day and store it for the phases of installation, provided that it all fits in the allocated space as explained during the site visit. 14) All contractors present agreed that a 90-day period of performance was adequate for completion of this project. 15) It was agreed upon by all parties involved that the design, line item 2 of this solicitation, should be removed and that all parties will quote off of C.A.D. designs provided free of charge by Brian Burns of Network Business Interiors.
