Description
The following changes have been made and are hereby incorporated into the combined synopsis/solicitation. The deadline of 28 September 2004 at 10:00 a.m. (Eastern Time) remains unchanged. The approximate Period of Performance is 29 September 2004 to 3 October 2004. 5 to 7 Days Calendar Days. The contractor must adhere to the quiet hours(0900–1200)being observed on the pier on 29 September 2004 for a Stand-up Ceremony. There will be no transportation of large machinery on/off the base or the running of cranes, compressors, or like equipment outside the skin of the ship. Work can; however, be accomplished within the skin of the ship during this time. Requirements 3.3 Carrier bearing clearance measurement. Before maintenance work is begun, the Contractor shall measure the rudder carrier bearing clearances of Port rudder. Submit CFR. 3.4 Rudder maintenance requirements. The Contractor shall perform the following for Port Rudder assembly: 3.4.2.3 Upper bearings. ·Clean and visually inspect the removed roller bearing. 3.4.2.4 Lower bearings. ·Visually inspect Port Thordon lower bearings for any abnormal or excessive wear. 3.4.4 Rudder reinstallation. Upon completion of all inspections and authorized repairs, if any, the Contractor shall reassemble and reinstall the Port rudder assembly, as shown on Coast Guard Drawings 901 WMEC 562-001 and 905 WMEC-004. Fill cavity below the new mechanical seal with grease, as shown on Coast Guard Drawing 905 WMEC-004. 3.8 Rudder air test. The Contractor shall air test the Port rudder in accordance with Std Spec 0740_STD, Appendix C. Submit CFR. Government Furnished Property: Rudder Assembly, NSN: 2040-01-486-0550, 1/ea is hereby removed from the list. Please submit acknowledgement of this amendment with your quotations.
