Description
NASA/MSFC plans to issue a IFB0-05-02 for "Replace /Upgrade Control Systems for Bridge Cranes (Site-Wide), Phase III. The order of magnitude for the procurement is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000 and the effort shall be completed within 300 calendar days after notice to proceed. The project consists of providing the labor, equipment, and materials to modify and upgrade cranes in Buildings 4656, 4705, and 4708. It is the intent of this project to remove and replace the primary components, subassemblies, and control systems of each crane. Unless otherwise noted, the crane will be stripped down to the structural bridge, then rebuild and repainted according to the specifications. This procurement is for full and open competition. All packages requested must be in writing and contain the Company name, address, phone/Fax numbers and point of contact. Request for IFB packages should be made to the below listed personnel. Safety records of the prime contractor and subcontractor will be a consideration at award time and the prime contractor must have an EXPERIENCE MODIFICATION RATING (EMR) of 1.0 or less and proof included within the bid package. The prime subcontractors EMR rating shall be no more than 1.1. Request for IFB packages will not be accepted less than 10 days prior to bid opening. The anticipated release date of the IFB is on or about 10-15-2004 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about 11-15-2004. The firm date for receipt of bids or proposals will be stated in the IFB. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". It is the offeror's responsibility to monitor the Internet site for the release of the solicitation and amendments (if any).
