Description
NAICS Code: 334516 The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) National Enforcement Investigations Center in Denver, Colorado intends to award a fixed-price Purchase Order using Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The provisions at FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors-Commercial Items and FAR 52.212-4 Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items, apply to this acquisition. The Government will award a Purchase Order resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer, conforming to the solicitation provisions, will be the lowest priced/technically acceptable. The purpose of this acquisition is to obtain an environmental chamber. The chamber shall be equipped with two 12-place rotating racks that are designed to hold extraction vessels with diameters of 4 ?" to 4 ?". The tracks and motor couplings must be able to rotate at 30 + or - 2 rpm for a duration of 18 + or - 2 hours during the test period. The chamber must maintain a constant temperature of 23 +or - 2 degrees Celsius. The chamber must have a means of regularly reporting data. A report of the date, time, temperature, and rotation rate in rpm must be provided by the unit at 20 minute intervals during the 18 + or - 2 hours of the test period. A means of logging this data and then printing out the results for inclusion into project data sets must be provided. Doors should be hinged to open out and allow full access within the chamber. The chamber must include a safety auto shut-off switch to halt the rotation of the racks when the doors are opened. Motor couplings on the shaft must be strong enough to hold the weight of full extraction vessels in a fully loaded rack and still rotate at the required rotation rate. The NAICS Code for this procurement is 334516. Any firm who believes it is capable of meeting EPA's requirement stated herein may submit a response, which if received within 20 calendar days of the date of this announcement will be considered. Responses to this posting must be in writing and shall include all shipping and handling charges.
