Description

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Patuxent River, intends to negotiate and award a sole-source Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) and associated orders to General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products, Burlington Vermont, in support of U.S. Navy and Marine Corps assault support rotary-wing and fixed-wing aircraft gun systems. The scope of the BOA shall include all of the efforts necessary to provide technical engineering services, repair and remanufacture of the following 20mm and 25 mm aircraft gun systems: M61A1/A2, GAU-12, M197, and associated gun system hardware, to include ammunition handling systems. The BOA will be for a period of three (3) years comprised of a base year and two option years. This BOA will be issued on a sole source basis to GDATP, the sole designer, developer and original equipment manufacturer of the M61A1/A2, GAU-12, M197 and associated gun system hardware. In addition, under the current destructive device regulations of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, General Dynamics is the only certified manufacturer of the above-specified aircraft cannons.
