Description

DESC: Automatic Chemical Agent Alarm (ACADA), NSN: 6665-01-438-6962 and the M88 Detector, NSN: 6665-01-438-3673. The services to procure are for the repair of ACADAs and M88 Detectors. This solicitation is restricted to Smiths Detection Edgewood, MD. Smiths is the only known source who has the necessary tools and test equipment along with the required Nuclear Regulatory License (NRC)needed for this effort. An NRC license is required because the ACADA contains radioactive material. This is published f or subcontracting purposes only. The aforementioned contractor is a large business. This proposal will result in a 5 year firm fixed price contract. The estimated total quantity of ACADAs and M88s to be repaired is 250. FOB is destination. This solicitat ion will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.501, 5.102(a)(7) and 14.205-1(c) therefore hardcopies will not be provided. Vendors wishing an electronic copy may download it on or after the issue date by accessing the following address via the internet: http://aais.ria.army.mil/aais/SOLINFO/index.htm. CAUTION: This solicitation will be issued electronically as will any amendments thereto. Because of this, the Government is under no obligation and is in fact unable to maintain a bidders mailin g list. It is therefore incumbent upon any interested parties to periodically access the above internet address in order to obtain any amendments which may be issued. Failure to obtain any said amendments and to respond to them prior to the date and time set for bid opening/receipt of proposals may render your bid or proposal nonresponsive and result in the rejection of same.
