- Description
- NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) is seeking Capability Statements from interested contractors for a Water Treatment Program. The objectives of the Water Treatment Program at GSFC are to minimize, to the extent practical, the effects of water and biological agents on the metal surfaces inside the cooling tower, chilled water, steam generating systems, and other closed water systems in order to prolong the life and maximize the effectiveness of these systems. No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If a solicitation is released it will be synopsized in FedBizOpps and on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service. It is the potential contractor's responsibility to monitor these sites for the release of any solicitation or synopsis. An interested contractor having the required specialized capabilities to perform the work described in this synopsis should respond by submitting a Capability Statement of five pages or less providing the information detailed below. Responses must include the following: name and address of firm, size of business; average annual revenue for past 3 years and number of employees; ownership; whether they are large, small, small disadvantaged, 8(a), HUBZone, and/or woman-owned; number of years in business; affiliate information: parent company, joint venture partners, potential teaming partners, prime contractor (if potential sub) or subcontractors (if potential prime); list of customers covering the past five years (highlight relevant work performed, contract numbers, contract type, dollar value of each procurement; and point of contact - address and phone number). Responses must include technical information that will demonstrate the contractor's specialized capabilities as follows: Experience in providing chemical treatment (chemicals and service) for steam boiler plant larger than 100,000 lb/hr capacity. Provide a description of specific treatment program(s) and three references familiar with the contractor's performance of this work at such plants. Experience in providing chemical treatment (chemicals and service) for chiller/cooling tower plants larger than 10,000 tons capacity. Provide a description of specific treatment program(s) and three references familiar with the contractor's performance of this work at such plants. Describe its ability to provide 24-hour emergency on-site response to GSFC within two hours of notice of chemical exposure, chemical spills, or suspected biological issue that might be related to a Water Treatment Program. Any questions should be directed to Randy J. Belew at telephone number (301) 286-6204 or by e-mail to Randy.J.Belew@nasa.gov. This is a Sources Sought synopsis intended for market research purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited. Respondents will not be notified of the results of this market research. Respondents deemed fully qualified will be considered in any resultant competitive solicitation for this requirement. The Government reserves the right to consider a small business or 8(a) set-aside based on responses to this synopsis. All responses shall be submitted to Randy J. Belew no later than October 29, 2004. Please reference 4200071984 in any response.
