Description
The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA has a requirement for Dockside repairs to the NOAA Ship THOMAS JEFFERSON, a 208 foot, 45 ft beam (molded) vessel. Vessel's homeport is 439 W. York St. Norfolk, VA. The NAICS is 336611. All work will be performed at vessel’s home port. The performance period will start on or about February 1, 2005 and shall be completed on or before March 3, 2005 (31 calendar days). An early award is anticipated to allow for long lead time materials. All work shall be performed in accordance with NOAA detailed specification MOA2-01(05), dated Oct 2004 and standard specifications to be provided at ship check and with the solicitation. Basic and Optional contract items include but are not limited to Compressed Air System Upgrades; Main Mast Modifications; MSD System Briner Installation; HSL Davit Renewals & Repair; FRB Davit Renewals & Repair; Misc Steel Renewals; Misc Piping Repairs; Galley Exhaust System Cleaning & Repairs; Machinery Space Exhaust Fan Motor Overhaul; Reduction Gear & Coupling Inspection; Mess Room & Lounge Modifications; Galley Modifications; Discharge Split Pipe Assy Install; Ventilation Systems Cleaning; Fire Pump Motor Overhaul; Fire/Bilge/Ballast Pump Renewal & Motor Overhaul; and Potable Water Transfer Pump Renewal. Vessel will be available for inspection November 18 & 19, 2004 at vessel’s homeport, Norfolk, VA. Arrangements for inspection can be made by contacting the Port Engineer, Neil Lamartin at (757)441-6369). At the present time, this acquisition will be issued as an IFB. This award is intended for a firm fixed price contract using sealed-bid procedures. No Defense Priorities and Allocations System (DPAS) rating assigned. To be eligible for award, offerors must be registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR): www.ccr.gov and obtain (and provide with the offer) a DUNS number by calling 1-800-333-0505.
