Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 13.106(b)(1), with Perkin Elmer Instruments of Norwalk, CT, to provide emergency service and preventative maintenance site visits for the following: LINE ITEM 0001: Quantity: 12 month emergency & preventative maintenance services for two (2) AS91 Flame Autosamplers . LINE ITEM 0002: Quantity: 12 month emergency and preventative maintenance service for two (2) Optima 3300DV ICP Instruments. LINE ITEM 0003: Quantity: 12 month emergency & preventative maintenance service for two (2) ICP Software P, L and T with 0PMs. ****The Sole source determination is based on NIST already using Perkin Elmer instruments. Additionally, only certified technicians from Perkin Elmer Instruments have full access to parts and engineering details required fro proper and timely maintenance and repairs. Perkin Elmer Instruments is the only known source that can provide these services.****** The period of performance shall be one (1) year from the date of award. *****The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 334516, and the size standard is 500 employees. The Government anticipates the award of a fixed price purchase order. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations and no solicitation package will be issued. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
