Description

The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Norfolk, Washington Detachment, intends to Award a sole-source contract to NEC Solutions America, of California to procure software and support for the Virginia State Automated Fingerprint Identification System Equipment. The service is for the purchase of an annual maintenance service with NEC for the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS FW21-L). This equipment and software are considered to be a sole source item. The system and software is exclusive to NEC and is used statewide for AFIS connectivity. This annual service contract has only been provided by NEC Solutions America Inc. A Justification and Approval for Other Than Full and Open Competition has been prepared and approved. The period of performance is anticipated to be from date of award through 30 September 2005 with four one year options. The SIC Code is 7381. See Note 22. The solicitation may be processed following normal commercial item procedures in accordance to FAR 13.5. There is no solicitation available for this requirement.
