Description

The work of this project consists of providing all labor, equipment, and materials required to drill, case, develop, test pump a domestic well near the Wilkins Ranch located off State Highway 1 within Point Reyes National Seashore, Marin County, CA. The contractor will be responsible for all phases of the work for the construction of a 5-inch water supply well in accordance with specifications provided. The work effort will consist of: Drilling of borehole and collection of drill samples; Installation and alignment testing of solid PVC casing from a point 2-feet above ground surface to top of well screen and the 10-foot piece of solid casing below the well screen; Analysis, selection, and installation of well screen; Installation of filter pack and formation stabilizer; Installation of grout; Well development; Test pumping; Sieve Analysis of drill samples for well screen selection; Water analysis; Disinfection and bacteriological testing; and Televising the finished and completed well. The estimated project range is between $25,000 and $100,000. Completion will be required within 45 days after receipt of a Notice to Proceed. Selection for award will be based on a best value determination after considering a firm's prior experience drilling potable water wells; performing well construction in remote locations; and ability to work in environmentally sensitive areas. The Request for Quotation (RFQ) will be available by October 29, 2004 via electronic commerce only and can be accessed at http://www.fedbizopps.gov or through the DOI National Business Center site at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. The contractor is responsible for periodically checking the website for any Amendments that may be issued prior to the closing date of the RFQ. This acquisition is unrestricted pursuant to Public Law 100-656. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which, if timely received, will be considered.
