- Description
- NAVAIR Orlando Training Systems Division (TSD) intends to issue a Firm Fixed Price contract for a duration of 6 months to Kidde Fire Trainers, Inc., (KFT) 1701 Pollitt Drive, Fair Lawn, NJ 07410 for the integration of proven, commercially available fire fighting training technology and deliver to the Government a Live Fire Training System (LFTS) trainer arranged in a maritime configuration. This trainer shall meet the requirements of the System Specification for RSNF Jubail FFTU, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c) (1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 6.302-1, “Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.” The effort was previously subcontracted to KFT under Phase I. The start-up trainer structure assembly has been installed. Under this effort, the contractor shall deliver an updated System Specification for RSNF Jubail FFTU, a Software Product Specification for the FFTU Software (proprietary to KFT), Acceptance Test Procedures and Acceptance Test Log (ATP & ATL), The contractor shall update the existing System Engineering Level Drawings (SELD). All Computer hardware and base operating system resources provided, as part of the FFTU, shall be commercially available. The contractor shall deliver and install the Trainer and Contractor Provided Facility Improvements in accordance with the System Specification for RSNF Jubail FFTU. The contractor shall be responsible for coordinating any site interface and installation requirements with the site prior to and during installation and acceptance testing. Compliance with the trainer requirements shall be demonstrated during a Government witnessed contractor's operational test in accordance with the FFTU Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP). The contractor shall use contractor format test procedures during the final on site acceptance tests. These procedures shall include steps to verify all performance characteristics and parameters specified in the updated system specification, and shall be made available for Government verification. The contractor shall conduct necessary inspections and checks to certify in writing to the Government that all trainer components have been properly and safely installed. This synopsis is not to be considered a request for quotations or proposals. No solicitation document is available.
