Description
The Department of Agriculture intends to award “The Wildlife Society” a sole source, fixed price contract for the “Compilation of published literature documenting affects of farm bill conservation programs on wildlife populations” project. This project will produce 1) a document including an updated examination of the effects of farm bill programs on wildlife conservation, and 2) reformatting relevant literature into a document with sections covering major habitat types affected, with sub-sections for different conservation practices. Authors will work with the Soil and Water Conservation Society (SWCS) to assure the SWCS report on soil and water-related resource concerns to ensure fish and wildlife-related information is incorporated where applicable. This effort will enhance USDA’s Conservation Evaluation and Assessment Project’s (CEAP) documentation of the environmental impacts of USDA farm bill programs. A critical aspect of this project is the requirement that a draft of the updated examination effects of farm bill programs on wildlife conservation be prepared by February 15, 2005 for the delivery of draft updated examination of the effects of farm bill programs on wildlife conservation, February 15, 2005 for the delivery of final updated examination of the effects of farm bill programs on wildlife conservation, and September 30, 2005 for the delivery of the reformatting relevant literature into sections covering major habitat types affected.
