Description
The 347th Contracting Squadron/MSCB is seeking sources to establish a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) for a Catholic Faith Community Musician/Choir Director. I. GENERAL: The position supports the Liturgical components of the Catholic Faith Community. The Catholic Faith Community Musician/Choir Director (hereafter called ?The Contractor?) will be responsible for the execution of all instrumental support and directing the choir and congregation for all rehearsals and Liturgical Celebrations specified in Section IV of this agreement. The Contractor will conform to Official Teachings of the Roman Catholic Church and Liturgical Rites. II. QUALIFICATIONS: a. Proficiency in playing a suitable musical instrument for Liturgical Celebrations. b. Ability to direct choir and congregational singing. c. Ability to teach the choir and congregation new music. d. Ability to select and prepare appropriate music according to the Liturgical Calendar. e. Have a thorough knowledge of the Liturgical Theology and the Rites of the Roman Catholic Church. III. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: a. Coordinate with the Catholic Chaplain and Faith Community Liturgical/Music Coordinator for all Liturgical Celebrations. b. Accompany choir, congregational and worship singing specified in Section IV of this agreement. c. Direct weekly choir rehearsals and warm-up sessions prior to any Liturgical Celebrations. d. Introduce new music to the congregation in an appropriate fashion. e. Ensure copyright laws are followed. f. Maintain professional competency. IV. REQUIRED SERVICES: The Contractor will provide services according to this agreement for a maximum of: a. 52 Sunday Masses b. Weekly Rehearsals (nominally) c. 1 New Year?s Day Mass d. 1 Ash Wednesday Mass e. 1 Holy Thursday Mass f. 1 Good Friday Service g. 1 Easter Vigil Mass h. 1 Assumption Mass i. 1 All Saint?s Day Mass j. 1 Immaculate Conception Mass k. 1 Christmas Eve Mass l. 1 Confirmation Mass m. Advent and Lenten Communal Reconciliation Services n. Additional services as required V. PAYMENT: a. The Contractor will be paid on a monthly basis. b. The Contractor will be paid one unit for each prescribed Liturgical Celebration or Rehearsal outlined in Section IV of this agreement; not to exceed 168 units per Fiscal Year. VI. SUBSTITUTIONS: a. The Contractor will provide a suitable substitute when he/she will not be able to fulfill the contract temporarily. A suitable substitute is one who meets the qualifications set forth in Sections II and III of this agreement. b. The Contractor will notify the Catholic Chaplain as early as possible when a substitute is being scheduled. c. Payment of the substitute is the responsibility of the Contractor. d. The Contractor shall perform a minimum of eighty percent of all Liturgical Celebrations and Rehearsals unless waived in writing and coordinated in advance with the Catholic Chaplain. e. The Contractor is authorized to subcontract units; not to exceed the total number of contracted units set forth in Section V of this agreement. The performance period is one year (1 December 2004 through 30 November 2005) with four one-year option periods, unless either party cancels the agreement by providing a 30 day written notification.
