Description
This synopsis is for an ?Early Exchange? (FAR 15.201) conference with potential prime contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers for an upcoming large Navy construction project located in Silverdale, Washington. This project will construct an 180,000-ft2 multi-level (approximately 270 ft by 360 ft), below-grade, earth covered, internal and external blast hardened, heavily reinforced concrete structure. Special features of the facility include: Two tunnels (approximately 400 ft long, 20 ft wide, and 16 ft tall) to provide heavy vehicle access to and from the below-grade levels; above ground mechanical and production support buildings; power-operated physical security and blast-resistant doors; (7) overhead bridge cranes (2 ton capacity), (3) elevators, lightning protection system, grounding system, emergency air purge system, and multiple independent HVAC systems (approximately 11). This project will also provide a new observation tower, utilities, and other site improvements. The existing perimeter fence, and roads will be expanded to encompass the new facility. The anticipated contract duration is approximately 1100 calendar days. Key experience is in the following construction expertise: mass concrete, complex and heavy concrete reinforcement, multiple independent HVAC systems, mass excavation and fill, on-site batch plant, and buried facilities. The estimated anticipated cost range for this project is over $100,000,000. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 236210. The conference will be held on 02 December 2004 (Thursday) from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Jackson Park Community Center, 90 Olding Road, Bremerton, WA, 98312. Topics of this ?Early Exchange? include: description of the construction design, discussion of unique features of the facility, the project?s anticipated procurement schedule and potential construction contractor selection criteria. In addition, the Navy will set forth the special solicitation controls regarding the receipt, distribution, copying, and return of the solicitation documents for this project. Only U.S. Citizens may participate. This synopsis is not a Request for Proposals. There will be no site visits at this time. It is anticipated that the solicitation announcement synopsis will be made in early 2005.
