Description

The purpose of this Sources Sought/Market Research is to identify potential sources capable of manufacturing Water Gel Explosives, MY77, NSN: 1375-01-180-5779. Manufacturing names include Detagel or Tovex 100 to be used in dog scent kits. Water gel explosives are encased in a plastic covering secured at each end by a wire tie or crimp. It is 8.0 inches long by 1.25 inches diameter and contains approximately one-half pound of grayish, putty-like explosive with a clear to reddish colored liquid filler . Water gel explosive is considered less sensitive to shock and impact than commercial dynamite. Items are packed six half-pound lengths of water gel explosive with some dry sawdust (added to absorb moisture) and packed in plastic ziplock type bags overp acked in M19A1 ammunition can. Interested firms who feel they are capable of manufacturing Water Gel Explosives are invited to indicate their interest by providing the Government a brief description of summary of their companys capabilities, including a b rief description of facilities, personnel and past manufacturing experience as it relates to the above criteria. Please respond NO LATER THAN 6 Dec 2004 and identify -Water Gel Explosives Sources Sought/Market Research- as the subject of your response. This is a market survey for planning purposes only and shall not be constru ed as a Request for Proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this market survey or otherwise pay for information solicited.
