- Description
- The purpose of this amendment is to re-open solicitation to answer contractor’s questions and to make the necessary changes: I. QUESTION - (1) What type of thermocouples will be connected to the transmitter panel? What is the expected temperature range to be monitored? Do the thermocouples need to be provided with the system, or will they be furnished by Norfolk Naval Shipyard? ANSWER - Thermocouples will be provided by Norfolk Naval Shipyard. Temperature range is ambient1400 degree fahrenheit. (2) QUESTIION - Is the battery charger to be furnished as a loose item, or is it to be part of the transmitter panel? What power is available for the charger, 120Vac or other? ANSWER: Battery charger to be loose/120Vac. (3) QUESTION - What power source (120Vac or other) is available for the receiver panel? ANSWER - Receiver is wired into the recorder that is on the heating power source. (4) QUESTION - The specifications states “determine interface wiring requirements between Norfolk Naval Shipyard’s existing Miller Induction Heating Equipment and wireless temperature receiver panel”. Can a schematic and/or operating manual for the existing Miller equipment be provided to us? ANSWER - The schematics could probably be obtained from the Miller Electric Company. (5) QUESTION - The spec states that the system will be a “monitoring system”. How will it be monitored, or displayed? Via existing meters, displays, or computer? ANSWER: The “monitoring system” refers to the heat monitoring which will be displayed on the recorder attached to the heating unit and loaded on a disc that can be downloaded onto a computer. (6) QUESTION - Is there a desired time period for performance of the contract? ANSWER: Complete within six (6) weeks of contract being awarded. II. An informational conference will be held for all prospective offerors at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard , Bldg 1500, 2nd Floor, Code 530 Conference Room at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, 10-Nov-2004. Offerors are requested to sumbit in writing any questions they may have in writing to NNSY, Code 532.2F, Tina Barnes @ 757-396-8277 via email to barneses@nnsy.navy.mil.. NOT LATER THAN Thursday, 09 Nov-2004, 12:00 p.m. Questions will be answered relative to this requirement at this time. A site visit will be conducted at the conclusion of the conference. The offeror shall also provide in writing information applicable to the company officials who will attend. This information shall include: Full name, social security number, date of birth, place of birth, and company/position title. V. The quote closing is re-established as 12-Nov-2004, 12:00 P.M.
