- As previously announced, the FAA will be conducting a best value procurement utilizing a process called the Performance Information Procurement System (PIPS) for construction of an Airport Traffic Control Tower (ACTC) at the Phoenix Deer Valley Municipal Airport (DVT) Phoenix, AZ. That project will include construction of an ATCT measuring 144' to the top of cab with structural precast panels on a mat foundation, an attached 5,000 square foot base building, emergency generator building, entrance road, utilities, parking lot, and security systems. An educational workshop was held to discuss the PIPS process and project requirements. The purpose of this announcement is to publicize the commencement of that procurement through collection of past performance information. So that the FAA can evaluate past performance, all interested contractors, including their Project Managers and Site Superintendents, and all interested critical subcontractors must provide Reference Lists in accordance with instructions at the following site: http://www.eas.asu.edu/pbsrg/research/faa/faa.htm Also, if there is sufficient interest, there will be a follow on opportunity for all potential Site Superintendents, Project Managers and Subcontractors to attend an additional PIPS workshop so as to better understand the project and how the award will be made. General Contractors are advised to encourage their potential Site Superintendents, Project Managers and Subcontractors to attend. That workshop will be held from 1:00 am - 3:00 pm on December 2, 2004 at The Arizona State University, Computing Commons Room 120.
