Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is soliciting prospective contractors for the construction of a Thermal Test Facility at the U.S. Army Soldier Systems Center in Natick, Massachusetts. This project involves the construction of a single-story structure, approximately 11,900 square feet (SF) in size. The building contains the following spaces; five thermal testing laboratories and support offices, three specially programmed fire cells for thermal testing and experiments, administ rative area, conference, and commons area, observation/control room for the three specially programmed fire cells, support areas including mechanical/electrical room, restrooms, storage rooms, and dock. All supporting services shall be constructed includi ng, but not limited to, the electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and sprinkler system. Site work includes, but is not limited to water, sewer, gas, electric, pavement, walks and earthwork. Additionally, the work includes the disassembly, relocation, and reassembl y of existing equipment from other locations, including the Thermal Manikin from Holden, Massachusetts and the Convective Oven from Aberdeen, Maryland. The NAICS code for this Procurement is 236220, with a Size Standard of $28.5 million. This solicitatio n is issued on an unrestricted basis. The estimated issue date for this procurement is on or about 22 November 2004. Prospective contractors and subcontractors are required to self-register their firm or office on the Internet to receive the solicitation . Registration instructions are available on the Internet at http://www.nae.usace.army.mil as well as the media by which the solicitation will be made available. Amendments, if any, to this solicitation will be made available at this Internet site. Neit her telephonic, mailed nor fax requests will be accepted. Those registering are responsible for the accuracy of the information on the registration list. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which will be considered by the New England District.
