- Description
- The item to procure is the M48A1 GAS-PARTICULATE FILTER, NSN 4240-01-363-1311, P/N 5-19-7435 which is manufactured from carbon impregnated filter, metal sheeting, aluminum castings and molded rubber seals. The M48A1 filter is a self-contained filter with both the gas and particulate elements housed in one canister. This filter is a component of filter systems providing positive pressure collective protection against Nuclear, Biological and Chemical threats. The filter removes toxic gases and particle s from contaminated air drawn from the environment and provides clean, breathable air to mobile and permanent shelters. As life support items, these filter sets have stringent physical and chemical agent requirements. Construction of the gas filter requi res experience in carbon filling. Only contractors having demonstrated success in manufacturing filters to such critical standards will be considered. Solicitation is an unrestricted, full and open competition and will result in the award of a 3-year fir m-fixed price, Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract with an estimated guaranteed minimum quantity of 5,000. First Article Testing is required. This is a Best Value procurement that will evaluate technical, past performance, small business par ticipation and price. FOB is Destination. The total estimated quantity over 3 years is 37,623 each M48A1 Filters. The total maximum quantity the government may order over 3 years is 43,000. Estimated ordering periods will be from award date through 30 Jun 2008. This solicitation incorporates a Technical Data Package (TDP) that cannot be provided via the internet. Vendors who need this TDP in order to prepare a bid or proposal are instructed to request same by submission of an email request to: tacom-ri -tdp@ria.army.mil. Any said requests should contain the following information; CAGE Code (if available), Company Name, Point of Contact (optional), Street Address, City, State, Zip Code, Telephone Number. A TDP will be provided by normal mail after the so licitation has been released to the internet. Estimated issue date is 24 Nov 2004. This solicitation will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.502 and 5.102, therefore, hardcopies will not be provided. Vendors wishing an electronic copy ma y download it on or after the issue date by accessing the following address via the Internet: https://aais.ria.army.mil/aais/SOLINFO/index.htm. CAUTION: This solicitation will be issued electronically as will any amendments thereto. It is therefore incu mbent upon interested parties to periodically access the above Internet address in order to obtain any amendments that may be issued.
