- This is a Request For Information only. There is no solicitation package available. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst New Jersey (NAVAIRLKE) is seeking Small Business and Small Disadvantaged Business sources that may be capable of providing services for Media Blasting and Painting of five (5) types of Cryogenic Support Equipment Trailers. NAVAIR intends to negotiate and issue a 3 ? 5 year Indefinite Quantity - Indefinite Delivery, Firm Fixed Price type contract consisting of a basic (minimum quantity) and (maximum estimated quantity) of trailers to be media blasted and painted on an as needed basis. The Navy reserves the right to make multiple awards. The Navy will provide as Government Furnished Property (GFP), 5 types of trailers, as follows: a. Nitrogen Servicing Trailers (NAN-4), b. Liquid Oxygen Servicing Trailers (TMU-70), c. Liquid Oxygen Storage Trailers (TUM-27), d. Oxygen Servicing Trailers (A/U26U-1A) and e. Oxygen Recharge Trailers (SPEN Cart). The Navy will have the option of either transporting the GFP to and from the contractor?s facility by Navy vehicles, or may require the contractor to provide transportation for pick up and delivery of up to eight cryogenic trailers at Lakehurst per occurrence. The contractor will be required to have the ability to transport the GFP and will provide pricing for both options. Pick up and delivery at Lakehurst must occur between the hours of 7:00AM and 2:00PM excluding Fridays. The government will provide the contractor with 48 hours notice prior to each occurrence. The contractor will be required to have the facility capability to accept, store and refurbish 8 cryogenic carts per occurrence and complete the refurbishment within 10-12 days. The Navy?s painting requirements are to media blast all parts, Prime using MIL-P-53022, Type II, and paint using MIL-C-82825, Type II color white #17925. Pinch points (Top 5 inches of brake handle, Lunette Eye, and Lifting Rings painted MIL-C-82825, Type II Color Red #11350. Inspection and Acceptance will be performed at Lakehurst. The Navy reserves the right to make on-site inspections. A pre-award site visit may be required prior to contract award. A written response detailing company capability and experience in handling similar work of the same scope, size and complexity to support the requirements above is required. Specific information concerning past experience performing similar type of work is desired. The response shall also include the company?s capability, personnel and experience level, the company?s ability to manage the workload to the proposed schedule, and the facilities available to meet the requirements above. The Government will not pay for any information received in response to this request nor will the Government compensate any respondent for any costs incurred in developing the information provided to the Government. Responses should cite RFI number N68335-04-RFI-0020 and be addressed to the attention of Barbara Davidowich, Code 25231, Bldg 120-2. All responses are due by close of business (4:00 P.M.) on Friday, 20 November 2004.
