Description

The Federal Bureau of Investigation intends to negotiate a one-time, sole-source, firm-fixed price maintenance contract with Pitney Bowes, Inc., Chesapeake, VA, under Request for Quote (RFQ) 075768. Pitney Bowes, Inc., is to provide the FBI with monthly maintenance on 7 each DM-1000 Mailing Machines (SPWT); 7 each DM-1000 Scales (1FW7); 62 each DM-500 Mailing Machines (SPY1); 62 each DM-500 Scales (1FW7); 30 each DM-200 Mailing Machines (SBBJ); and, 30 each DM-200 Scales (1FW7). These mailing machines and scales are located throughout the CONUS, Hawaii, Alaska, and San Juan, Puerto Rico. Market research has determined that the FBI’s requirement can only be provided by Pitney Bowes, Inc., because they are the only known vendor that can disengage the postage meters when parts are needed. However, interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement or submit proposals to this office by 2:00PM, EST, November 23, 2004, via facsimile to the attention of Ms. Theresa M. Powell, Contracting Officer, at 703.632.1607. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The North American Industrial Classification number is 423420; the size standard is 500 employees. This contract will be awarded as a commercial item in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation, Part 12. Telephone requests will not be accepted.
