Description
Description: The objective of this requirement is to obtain the necessary personnel, facilities and equipment to perform the inspection, compliance testing and reporting services to determine conformance with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 109, "New Pneumatic Tires For Passenger Cars" and FMVSS No. 119, "New Pneumatic Tires For Vehicles Other Than Passenger Cars." The Government will provide test items to the Contractor as Government Furnished Test Items (GFTI). Reporting services will also be required by the Contractor in conjunction with the testing services. Bidders must have the necessary testing facilities and equipment capable of meeting the testing requirements as specified by the Solicitation and Laboratory Test Procedures number TP-109-09 for passenger car tires and number TP-119-04 for tires for vehicles other than passenger cars. The Government may require a demonstration test at the offeror's expense prior to contract award using the testing facilities, personnel, and equipment that the offeror proposes to use in the performance of the contract. NHTSA also reserves the right to conduct a pre-award survey or to require other evidence of financial capability to perform the work described in the solicitation, prior to the award of the contract. No subcontracting will be permitted. The Government reserves the right to make multiple awards for this procurement. A period of performance for twelve (12 ) months with options for four (4) additional one-year periods is contemplated. The anticipated issue date of the IFB is on or about May 19, 2000. NOTE: THIS NOTICE MAY HAVE POSTED ON WWW.FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (18-APR-2000).
