- This project will consist of bridge construction for the South Fork Merced River and El Portal Road, CA YOSE 14(3) and YOSE 16(5), in the Yosemite National Park, Mariposa County, State of California. Estimated price range is between $4,000,000 and $8,000,000. This project contains 1 schedule including 0.21 miles bridge construction and 6.7 miles micro-surfacing. Principal work items include: various survey and staking; lump sum contractor testing; 4,080 linear ft. silt fence; lump sum removal of structures and obstructions; 670 cu yd roadway excavation; 2,800 cu yd structure excavation; lump sum cofferdams; 701 cu yd placed riprap (various class); 980 tons minor hot asphalt concrete; 180 tons emulsified asphalt grade; 114,100 sq yd micro-surfacing type 3; 1,476 cu yd structural concrete, Class A; 650 cu yd seal concrete for cofferdam; 14,980 lb concrete coloring agent; lump sum prestressing system; 74,950 lb reinforcing steel; 138,000 lb epoxy coated reinforcing steel; lump sum timber bridge railing; 4 each concrete headwall (various); 200 linear ft. pipe culvert; lump sum water system; lump sum temporary relocation of water system; lump sum sewer system; lump sum temporary relocation of sewer system; 592 sq yd simulated stone masonry surface treatment; 2,780 linear ft. fencing (various); 105 sq yd cobble stone masonry; heavy equipment operators; lump sum moving steel panel bridge - temp. location; 2,840 hrs flagger; pavement markings; coning and barricades.. The following applies only to Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs): The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontractor at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing.
