Description
The U.S. Army Small Computer Program (ASCP) and the Army Contracting Agency, Information Technology, E-Commerce and Commercial Contracting Center (ITEC4) are developing the acquisition strategy for the Army Desktop and Mobile Computing-2 acquisition. The purpose of this acquisition is to support Army requirements for Information Technology (IT) products, consisting of, but not limited to, commercial desktops, laptops, ruggedized laptops, wireless computing systems, as well as associated factory order able upgrades and related peripherals such as printers, software (not on DoD Enterprise Software Initiative Agreements), and accessories. IT products procured through this acquisition are required to comply with DoD and Army standards, such as the DoD IT Standards Registry and Joint Technical Architecture-Army. The government is considering a modular approach, which would provide vendors the option of bidding on all, some, or one module. The government intends to reserve some awards for Small Business. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334111(Electronic Computer Manufacturing) with small business size standard of 1,000 employees. Contractors will be required to support up to a Secret security clearanc e. Some orders may require Top Secret (TS) Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) for on-site warranty support. The government is currently performing market research to assist in the development of the acquisition strategy for ADMC-2. The ADMC-2 mar ket research questionnaire is available on the ASCP web page at https://ascp.monmouth.army.mil/scp/survey/admc2survey.jsp. You are encouraged to participate in the market survey by submitting a completed survey no later than January 19, 2005. The require ments and strategy as stated in this notice and questionnaire are subject to change as the acquisition evolves. More definitive information and an estimated milestone schedule will be provided at a later date.
