Description
A MARKET SURVEY is being conducted to determine if there are adequate HubZone, Section 8(a), or Service Disabled Veteran contractors for these proposed contracts. The proposed contracts will be for replacement of chillers at Rock Island Arsenal. Ph ase I of the work will include installing 3 new chillers, and removing 3 existing chillers. Phase II of the work will include installing 2 new chillers, and removing the existing chillers. Project will include new piping, modifications to the cooling tow er, and electric service modifications. Work will be accomplished in various buildings. Phase I is planned for advertisement in January 2005 with award scheduled in May 2005. Phase II will be awarded under a separate contract and is planned for advertisement in June 2005 with award scheduled in August 2005. Work is required to be completed by March 2006 for both phases. NAICS is 238220 for both projects. The estimated cost range is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00 for phase I, and between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00 for phase II. 80% of the work is to be self-performed. All interested HubZone, Section 8(a), or Service Disabled Veteran contractors businesses should notify this office in writing by mail or fax by Jan 20, 2003, 3:00 pm, local time. Responses should include: (1) Identification and verification of company as a HubZone, Section 8(a), or Service Disabled Veteran business, (2) Past Experience- Describe completed projects that are similar in size, scope to the proposed project, the percentage of self-performed work and how that was accomplished, (3) Capability of ob taining performance and payment bonds for a project in the dollar amount listed above, and (4) a statement verifying the contractor will perform 80% of the work and how it will be accomplished. NOTE: If qualified HubZone, Section 8(a), or Service Disabled Veteran business business firms do not respond, this planned contract action will be converted to full and open competition.
