Description
NOTICE OF CONTRACT ACTION FOR THE QUINT NETWORKING TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM (QNT). QNT is a modular network data link program focused on providing a multi-band modular capability to close the seams between five nodes - Aircraft, UCAV, Weapons, tactical UAV and dismounted ground forces. The specific intended QNT hardware users are weapons, air control forces on the ground (dismounted) and tactical UAV?s. These three are the focal points of the QNT effort with the other two elements using hardware and waveforms from established programs. The assumption is these other two types of platforms provide a starting point for building capability for the other three elements. The objective of the QNT program is to design, develop, evaluate and demonstrate robust, affordable data link technologies suitable for use by weapons, tactical unmanned air vehicles (UAV?s), and dismounted ground units. A draft of the Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) providing more details into this program is attached hereto. Comments from Industry and Academia concerning any of the technical description as described in the DRAFT BAA solicitation for this program are welcomed. Any and all comments are requested to be submitted to both Dawn Ross at dawn.ross@wpafb.af.mil and Michele White at michelle.white@eglin.af.mil by no later than 18 Jan 05, 3:00 pm local time. The final BAA is anticipated to be released by 20 Jan 05 and will be available at www.fedbizopps.gov. These proposals are anticipated to have a expected due date of 28 Feb 05. Other business opportunities for the Air Force Research Laboratory are also available at www.fedbizopps.gov. Direct questions to the Contracting point of contact identified in the announcement.
