Description
The contract will provide the replacement of the existing Aircraft Direct Hydrant Fueling System, including the pump station, flightline distribution piping, aircraft direct-fueling stations, rail car unloading station piping, and the truck fill stand fueling stations. The Aircraft Direct Hydrant Fueling System will be built in parallel to the existing system, and construction will be carefully phased to allow both systems to be in service for a period of time until the new system is fully functional. The replacement pump house for the Aircraft Direct Hydrant Fueling System will have five fueling pumps, seven filter separators and a PLC-based control system. The structure will be of pre-engineered metal construction with a masonry-walled control room at one end. The control room will house the system control panel, motor control center, and a toilet. Inside the pump house, the portions of the piping and equipment upstream of the issue filter separators will be interior epoxy-coated carbon steel. Controls for five existing bulk fuel tanks will be modified for compatibility with the new hydrant system. The primary new issue piping between the filter separators and the aircraft direct fueling pantograph stations, will be of exterior-coated stainless steel and the return piping will be of interior and exterior coated carbon steel. Replacement piping between the pump house and the tank farm will be of interior and exterior coated carbon steel. An electronic pipeline leak detection system will be installed, and new fire system pull stations will be provided at every fueling pit. The project will demolish sixteen aircraft direct fueling pantograph stations and will provide ten new stations. The project will also replace portions of the Railcar/Truck Offloading System. This work includes replacing the fuel distribution piping and dispensing stations, providing an access road, six over-the-road tank truck stations and a concrete spill containment structure. Demolition will include the existing pump station for the Aircraft Direct Hydrant Fueling System and portions of the Railcar/Truck Offloading System. Most of the existing underground fuel piping will be abandoned in place. Contaminated soil and groundwater will require testing and stockpiling. The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, engineering, materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and transportation to perform all of the services described in the plans and specifications.
