Description
The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA, intends to solicit for purchase 75 each Thermometer, Soil, Mercury-In-Steel, Dial-Type, Range -40 to 120 Degrees F. The National Weather Service is making a final purchase of this thermometer because they contain mercury, which has been identified as a hazardous material. An Environmental Hazardous Material waiver has been granted to purchase a one year supply of this thermometer. The need to acquire this thermometer from Palmer Instrument, Inc., for a last time buy far outweighs the Government?s time to competitively procure this item and evaluate additional sources. This item shall be delivered to the National Logistics Support Center, Kansas City, MO. The intended procurement is for supplies for which the government intends to acquire under the guidelines of FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisitions. This is NOT a request for proposals and there is no solicitation. The Government reserves the right to solicit bids based on receipt of affirmative responses to this notice or issue an order to Palmer Instrument, Inc., whichever is determined to be more advantageous to the Government without further notice. The NAICS code for this action is 335999. The Central Administrative Support Center, Acquisition Management Division requires that all contractors doing business with this Acquisition Office must be registered with the Central Contractor Reqistry (CCR). No award can be made unless the vendor is registered in CCR. For additional information and to register in CCR, please access the following website: http://www.ccr.gov/. In order to register with the CCR and to be eligible to receive an award from this acquisition office, all offerors must have a Dun & Bradstreet number.
