- NOUN: Support, Turbine Nozzle NSN: 2840-01-450-8071PR P/N: 1864M40G01 APPLICABLE TO: F16C/D and B2A QTY: 271 EA DIMENSIONS: Approx size outer diameter 32.15 to 32.16, height 2.38 to 2.42, mat?l renee 41. FORM/FIT/FUNCTION: The support nozzle is used to retain the first stage low pressure turbine nozzle. ESTIMATED DELIVERY DATE: April 2005 ANTICIPATED AWARD DATE: 1 April 2005. No solicitation requests will be accepted, obtain solicitation from www.eps.gov. EVALUATION FACTORS: 100% SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. To be eligible for contract award, offerors must be approved small business sources. The Government is not required to delay contract award to review pending Source Approval Requests (SARs). Therefore, offerors are encouraged to submit SARs as soon as possible. If the Government has not completed review of the SAR when the contract is awarded, the SAR will be retained and the source will be reviewed for possible Source Approval for future awards. The requirements of FAR 9.202(a) have been completed and copies of the qualification requirements and standards may be obtained. Request for Proposal will be issued. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. The integrity, fit and function of this nozzle support is critical to safe flight and engine operation. All proposals received within forty five-days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. In order to comply with the drawing specified dimensional tolerances, material certifications and process requirements, the contractor must have special expertise, sophisticated facilities and be able to implement stringent quality controls. Qualification requirements apply to this item. Contact the Small Business for a copy of the source approval booklet (https://wwwmil.tinker.af.mil/bc/). Prequalification of sources are therefore necessary to insure the quality and integrity of the part. FIRST ARTICLE REQUIREMENTS: A First Article requirement of 3 ea units is applicable in addition to production quantity. Approved First Articles will be forwarded to USAF Supply. First Article waivers will apply and will be further described in solicitation. SURPLUS MATERIAL: New/Unused Govt. surplus will be accepted, while commercial surplus will not. Further details regarding surplus acceptance will be provided in solicitation. PACKAGING REQUIREMENTS: Exact packaging requirements will be provided in solicitation and will be in accordance with military packaging guidelines. NOTE: An Ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the proposed development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program director or contracting officer, but to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to source of the concern. The ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process.
