Description
The US Army, TACOM-Picatinny is conducting a market survey seeking interested qualified sources for mechanical and electrical engineering support for Large- Bore Cannon design and development. Firms will be required to provide mechanical and electrical engineering design, quality management system support, and analysis for engineering support tasks for tank and artillery cannons, mortars, and recoilless rifles. These tasks shall include, but not be limited to structural analyses, computational and analytical stress calculations, Finite Element Analyses (FEA), design reviews, design recommendations, design for manufacturing/assembly studies, component failure analyses, reverse engineering and manufacturing process recommendations. Contractor personnel will be required to be located at the government facilities; Benet Laboratories site Watervliet Arsenal, Watervliet New York. Firms interested in participating in providing engineering support should submit a capability statement (1-10 pages) adequately describing past experience in large caliber cannon weapons systems development, production, testing and systems contracting. Interested firms should also submit a summary of their personnel and qualifications (related skill sets). The summary will count towards the capabilities statement. Contractors must possess clearance at the level of SECRET. Any responsible/interested sources shall submit their qualifications and capabilities electronically within 15 days of this notice to: Mr. Kevin Puma, Contract Specialist, US Army, TACOM-Picatinny, AMSTA-AQ- APE, Picatinny, NJ 07806-5000. Email: kpuma@pica.army.mil. Any questions must be asked in writing and sent electronically. Please include with your response, the company?s name, address, and point of contact with telephone and e-mail address, and size of business (small / large). Any files intended to be submitted that have been compressed using zip software must have their file extensions changed to ?zip-a? in order to be accepted through our security firewalls. THIS IS A SOURCE SOUGHT NOTICE FOR PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION AND DOES NOT OBLIGATE THE GOVERNMENT TO ISSUE A SOLICITATION. Please be advised that the Government will not pay for any information submitted under this announcement. Electronic submittals are preferred. See Numbered Note 25.
