Description
The FAA is seeking qualified contractors to perform work for the M-1 Room Rehabilitation-Mod 4-Phase II at the Cleveland ARTCC, Oberlin, Ohio. Work consists of but is not limited to the following: renovations of the Basement, Control Wing Control Room, Bridge Level, Attic and Roof Areas, and all other work as indicated in the Project Specifications and on the Project Drawings. Demolition work includes, but is not limited to, the following: The removal of doors, walls, sound absorbing panels, carpeting, obsolete consoles, electrical systems (wiring, conduit, receptacles, switches, fixtures, etc.) and existing boilers as indicated in these specifications and on the contract drawings. The mechanical air handling systems (including units, piping, ductwork, diffusers, grilles, sensors, etc.) have been removed under Phase I demolition. The removal of asbestos pipe insulation and fittings, and other items listed in Sections 02080 Asbestos Containing/Contaminated Materials (ACM), and 02085 Lead Coated Components (LCC) has also been completed by the Phase I contractor prior to the start of this work. New construction includes, but is not limited to, the following: Installation of new raised floor systems, walls, doors, frames, finishes, partitions, acoustic panels, ceiling systems, secondary framing, attic grating, roofing, plumbing and mechanical air handling systems (including units, ductwork, piping, diffusers, grilles, fans, filters, pumps, etc.), steam generators, boilers, fire protection systems, non-essential, essential and critical feeder and distribution systems, lighting fixtures, receptacles, switches and grounding application. Offer range is between $3M to $6.5M with a performance time of approximately 9 months. Construction start is expected to be in the Summer of 2005 timeframe. THOSE FIRMS PREVIOUSLY FOUND QUALIFIED, DO NOT NEED TO RE-SUBMIT THE APPLICATION. PLEASE NOTIFY THE CONTRACTING OFFICER, VIA EMAIL, OF YOUR INTEREST TO OBTAIN THE REQUEST FOR OFFER. Upon completion of evaluation process, only those firms determined to be qualified will be sent a Request for Offer (RFO). The RFO is anticipated to be available by Spring 2005. For informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has programs to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000.
