Description
The US Army RDECOM, Natick Contracting Division, has a requirement for 200 Small, 1300 Medium, and 500 Large Parachutist Ankle Braces to include an Option for 165 Small, Medium and Larges, to be manufactured in accordance with Commercial Item Descrip tion (CID) number A-A-52195 dated 30 December 1994, with the following paragraph changes: (1) Delete paragraph 3.3.2.1. and substitute with: 3.3.2.1. Vertical adjustment straps: The vertical Nylon inserted Neoprene Rubber adjustment strap will have a b uckle adjustment with a hook and loop fastening tape locking end on the strap. The buckle will be securely bolted an/or riveted to the brace. The strap will be bolted to the brace and be able to be replaced; and (2) Delete paragraph 3.3.3. and substitute : 3.3.3. Cushions: There will be an ultra flexible cross-linked Polyolefin foam type type cushion permanently attached to the inside of each side of the shell to provide the maximum amount of support and comfort. The foam thickness specification is 0.37 5 inches plus or minus 10 percent (0.338-0.413). The complete CID will be furnished as an attachment to the Request for Quote (RFQ). The Parachutist Ankle Braces will be used in a 1-year study for the Reduction of Parachutist Injuries resulting from Pa rachute Landing Falls. The US Army Infantry Center and School , Basic Airborne Course, Ft. Benning, GA, will be the study location and will track injury rates of Basic Airborne School students during their formal training phase. This is a full and open/ unrestricted Commercial Item acquisition using Commercial Item Procedures outlined in FAR Part 52.212. The NAICS Classification for this effort is 314999. For the purpose of this requirement, any concern employing 500 or fewer employees is considered a s mall business. This acquisition will utilize best value source selection will be based on the following factors: Delivery Schedule, Pricing and Past Performance in that order of importance, and will result in an award of a Firm Fixed Price Type Purchase Order . The Request For Quotation (RFQ) will be posted on the Natick Contracting Divisions Web Site: https://www3.natick.army.mil on or about 17 March 2005. This notice expires 17 March 2005.
