Description: NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR AIR AND STREAM IMPROVEMENT, INC. intends to: 1. Capture, band and attach radio transmitters to barred owls in the Klamath Falls project area where NCASI is currently radio tracking spotted owls. 2. Capture, band and attach radio transmitters to barred owl offspring from barred owl nests in the project area. 3. Employ and report on various capture methods and techniques for barred owls. 4. Radio track those barred owls with emphasis on gaining same-time proximity information between barred and spotted owls. 5. Incidentally gather pellets from nest areas or roost areas of barred owls as they become known. Projected award date March 18, 2005.
