Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) plans to negotiate, on a sole source basis, with Wyatt Technology Corporation, Santa Barbara, CA, under the authority of FAR 13.106(b), Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The object of this requirement is the acquisition of a DAWN EOS-30mW diode laser light source, a WyattQELS System-On-Line Quasi-Elastic Light Scattering (QELS) system, a microCuvette Assembly Kit, training, and technical support. Wyatt Technology Corporation is the only vendor able to meet the following unique combination of requirements that allow for the types of measurements necessitated by the NIST laboratory simultaneously on a single sample at the requisite number of 18 angles, as follows: Simultaneous dynamic or quasi-elastic laser light scattering, as well as static light scattering; 30mW laser light source; measurement of light scattering at 18 individual angles for both static and dynamic light scattering measurements. The anticipated award date of this order is on or about five (5) days from the date of this notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. Interested persons may identify their intent and capability to respond to this requirement no later than the response date above. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. For information, call the POC identified below.
