Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.eps.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport requires an offeror to build the Radio Frequency Distribution Unit (RFDU) which will be installed onboard submarines beginning July 2006. The RFDU is an electronic device that will take a large number of RF inputs and distribute them among an even larger number of RF outputs. The unit will also condition (adjust), combine, and amplify the RF and associated noise levels of the input signals. The RFDU will also have RF switching capability that will allow the outputs to be switched to various signal paths. All these functions are to be performed across a wide frequency range from VLF through SHF. The RFDU is a build to specification Solicitation. Including the Basic and Option quantities, the Government intends to purchase approximately 15 Systems. The Solicitation also contains Options for Repair/Spare Parts, Engineering Services, Depot Repair Services, Drawings and Special Test Equipment. Type of Contract: Firm Fixed Price and Time & Material. Evaluation Criteria: Best Value (Technical/Management Approach, Past Performance and Price). The Solicitation will also contain information relating to a Pre-proposal Conference. The RFDU is a new requirement and does not have an incumbent contractor. Our department no longer issues solicitations or amendments in paper form. Instead, they may be accessed at our web site http://www.npt.nuwc.navy.mil/contract/. We also provide electronic access in our Bid Room.
