Description
The Department of Transportation?s (DOT) Research, Innovation and Technology Administration (RITA) has a requirement for an assessment of available technical information to identify gaps in the DOT hydrogen safety program. This assessment involves two studies: 1) Review, understand, and analyze current hydrogen-related technologies and R&D both from government and industry, identify gaps or future technology needs that are currently not being addressed, and recommend appropriate solutions that will ensure the safety and reliable operations of hydrogen infrastructure for storage, distribution and delivery technologies for the near term (up to five years) and long term (up to 15 years) (Note: it is not required to deliver actual technology), and 2) Synthesize DOT requirements and identify gaps in technical information to aid the development of appropriate safety programs, government regulations, industry codes and consensus standards to ensure the safety of hydrogen infrastructure and delivery operations. This is a follow-up to the Sources Sought posted for this requirement in June of 2004. The estimated date of release for the solicitation is on or around April 8, 2005. The anticipated period of performance for this action is expected to end 120 days after the date of award. Potential Offerors are responsible for downloading their own copy of the solicitation and amendments (if any). Requests for paper copies of the RFP will not be accepted. Electronic documents and any other documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet at FedBizOpps. The website for FedBizOpps is www.eps.gov.
