Description

The work for this contract consists of completion of a log stringer trail bridge. The abutments and log stringers are in place. The work covered by this contract includes trimming the log stringers, moving log stringers into final position, installation of Government furnished pressure treated lumber deck planks and pressure treated wood pole railing system and installation of Contractor provided pressure treated lumber stairs at both ends of the bridge. Transportation facilities are limited to a trail to access the last 3 miles to the project site. Presently the last 1-1/2 miles of the trail is limited to foot hiking due to trail conditions. HELICOPTER DELIVERY OF MATERIALS TO THE PROJECT SITE IS POSSIBLE. HELICOPTER FLIGHTS INTO THE DRAINAGE ARE RESTRICTED TO THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER. This project is located on the Mapleton Ranger District, Siuslaw National Forest, Lane County, Oregon. The successful Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, supplies (except those designated as Government-furnished), and incidentals to accomplish all work necessary. The Government estimate is less than $100,000. Offers are due by close of business on May 11, 2005. The successful Contractor shall also be required to submit a payment bond (100%) prior to start of work. Contract time is 120 calendar days. Estimated start work date for fabrication of contractor supplied materials is June 1, 2005; installation and field work to be completed in September 2005. This solicitation is a Small Business set-aside. The solicitation packet will be posted in FedBizOpps on or about April 15, 2005.
