Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis, with Rudolph Technologies, Inc., Flanders, NJ, under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(B)(1), Soliciting From a Single Source, for preventive maintenance service contract for one (1) Auto EI IV Rudolph Ellipsometer, Serial Number 7638 . This is a sole source requirement as Rudolph Technologies Inc. is the sole manufacturer of the Rudolph Ellipsometer and currently the only reliable source of outdated parts and expertise needed for preventative maintenance and care for the system. A firm fixed priced purchase order will be issued on or about April 25, 2005. The performance period will begin May 1, 2005 and continue for one (1) year and include four (4) option periods of one (1) year each. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement, in writing, no later than the response date. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill the requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This notice of intent is not a Request for Quotation (RFQ) nor is it a request for competition.
