Description
Construction of 4 livestock fences and gates on the North Fork John Day Ranger District (Umatilla County and Grant County). The Bull Springs Fence consists of 2.3 miles of New Zealand livestock fence with 3 wire gates and 1 steel gate. The work shall include but is not limited to the following work: clearing, removal of existing dilapidated barb-wire fence from National Forest land and replacing the existing fence with a 3 strand 12 ? gauge smooth (New Zealand) wire fence using either larch jack and stay or steel pipe and larch stay construction or a combination of the two construction types. All old existing stays and post will be left outside of the Right of Way along the fence line to be picked up by USFS or permittees at a later date. Remove existing holding pen (fence) and associated material from National Forest lands. The Klondike Fence consists of 2.0 miles of New Zealand livestock fence with 3 wire gates and 1 steel gate. The work shall include but is not limited to the following work: clearing, removal of existing dilapidated barb-wire fence and steel posts from National Forest land and replacing the existing fence with a 3 strand 12 ? gauge smooth (New Zealand) wire fence using either larch jack and stay or steel pipe and larch stay construction or a combination of the two construction types. All old existing stays and post will be left outside of the Right of Way along the fence line to be picked up by USFS or permittees at a later date. Work also includes the following two Option Items: Klondike Fence consists of 2.0 miles of New Zealand livestock fence with 4 wire gates and 1 steel gate. The work shall include but is not limited to the following work: clearing, removal of existing dilapidated barb-wire fence and steel posts from National Forest land and replacing the existing fence with a 3 strand 12 ? gauge smooth (New Zealand) wire fence using either larch jack and stay or steel pipe and larch stay construction or a combination of the two construction types. Bull Springs Fence which consists of 0.3 miles of New Zealand livestock fence with no gates. The work shall include but is not limited to the following work: clearing, removal of existing dilapidated barb-wire fence from National Forest land and replacing the existing fence with a 3 strand 12 ? gauge smooth (New Zealand) wire fence using either larch jack and stay or steel pipe and larch stay construction or a combination of the two construction types. All old existing stays and post will be left outside of the Right of Way along the fence line to be picked up by USFS or permittees at a later date. The estimated price range is between $25,000 and $100,000. Work is estimated to begin May 16, 2005 and contract time is 578 calendar days. The solicitation will be posted to FedBizOpps on or about April 15, 2005.
