Description
Tulsa Job Corps Center which is owned by the United States Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration and operated By ResCare Inc. is soliciting bids from General Construction Contractors for the construction of bulkheads around fire/smoke dampers to conceal the operating mechanisms in approximately 50 dorm rooms. The extent of work is described in Article 1, as Scope of Work. Interested parties are to determine their bid(s) based on the specifications. Interested bidders are invited to attend a pre-bid conference in the main conference room at Tulsa Job Corps Center located at 1133 N. Lewis in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Thursday April 07, 2005 at 10:00 am. The Tulsa Job Corps Center reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any or all informalities Article 1. SCOPE OF WORK ? 48178 (Bulkhead Project) 1. Build bulkheads around the fire/smoke dampers to conceal the operating mechanisms in about 50 dormitory rooms. 2. Construct the bulkheads with steel frames, ? inch plywood backer, and ? inch sheet rock. Frame out with 3/8 or ? round or 1x2 for esthetics. 3. Provide lockable access doors in each bulkhead on the mechanical end. Approximately 12 inches by 12 inches. "All locks must be keyed the same". 4. Bulkheads will be flush with the return air grill and will measure approximately 2 feet wide, (horizontally) by 1 foot 6 inches high (vertically). The length of the bulkhead will be approximately 1 foot. 5. Paint the bulkheads to match the existing color of the room. 6. Contractor will have access to the rooms from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day. No weekends or holidays will be worked. 7. Contractor is responsible to cover, or other wise protect all beds, chairs, computers, personal effects, ect in each room. 8. Basic construction of the bulkheads may be accomplished outside or off site and returned to center for installation as the contractor chooses.
