- Description
- This project generally consists of, but is not limited to, the following: Interior Renovation Work. - A. Restroom Renovations - Renovate restrooms throughout the facility, which includes the men's and women's restroom on the first floor of the Base Building, and the second, fourth, fifth, and sixth floors of the Airport Traffic Control Tower. The work generally includes the following: *Remove and replace the porcelain fixtures (e.g. toilet, urinal, lavatory). *Remove and replace all plumbing fixtures (e.g. faucet, flush valves, etc.). *Remove and replace suspended ceiling. *Remove and replace light fixture(s). *The ceramic tile floor shall be stripped and thoroughly cleaned to bring it back to a "like new" condition. Missing/loose grout shall be replaced prior to final sealing. *Remove and replace wall base - color to match 1st floor restrooms *Patch/paint walls - colors to match 1st floor restrooms *Paint metal stalls - color to match 1st floor restrooms *Paint door and frame (both sides) - color to match inside of 1st floor restroom doors *Remove, clean, paint and re-install wall/ceiling mounted louver(s) *Remove and replace the lockset on the restroom door (privacy lock) *Remove rust, prime, and paint access door B· Stairwell Painting *Paint the stairwell walls and elevator lobbies from Level 1 ½ to Level 6 of the ATCT. Work shall include all walls, ceilings, handrails, doors/frames, elevator doors/frames, stair stringers, stair treads/risers, structural steel members/bracing, etc. - colors to match the 1st floor of the ATCT, which has already been painted. *Paint the interior of the fire hose cabinets (total of six) red to match the exterior. C· Miscellaneous Items *Remove and install/adjust a new closer on the exterior door of the engine/generator room. *Install a new gasket on the cab roof hatch door. *Paint the walls (above lockers to ceiling) of the Locker Room 121. *Replace light fixtures in specified rooms. Exterior Renovation Work. - A. Concrete/Flatwork - *Remove a section of concrete curb/gutter in the northwest corner of the site; install drop down curb, and a concrete slab for motorcycle parking. *Replace concrete sidewalk ramps on the west and south sides of the building. *Repair sidewalk sections on the west side of the building. *Repair curb on the north side of the building. *Remove concrete sidewalk on the southwest corner of the building *Remove a section of sidewalk and curb/gutter on the east side of the building, and install new sidewalk with a handicap ramp. *Remove old joint sealant from sidewalks and curb/gutter. Clean joints and re-seal all sidewalk and curb/gutter joints around the facility. B. *Painting ATCT and Base Building Prepare and paint the exterior of the ATCT and Base Building, including the metal landing and stair on the east side of the ATCT and other items noted on the contract drawings. *Preparation will include removing loose paint and rust, sealing around doors, windows, louvers, horizontal joints in the siding panels, pipes/conduits, and any other penetrations. Surfaces shall be cleaned to ensure good adhesion of new paint. C. Windows/glazing units *Replace insulating window units (spandrel and vision) that have lost their seal and become "fogged" with condensation. *Wet-seal all glazing units in the ATCT and Base Building. The existing units are installed in aluminum frames with gaskets. D. Install a dock lift in the perimeter drive *Remove asphalt pavement and concrete curb/gutter as necessary to install a hydraulic lift adjacent to the loading dock on the east side of the Base Building. The lift shall be installed in a pit so that the platform, in its fully retracted position, is flush with the surrounding pavement. *Underground utilities in the area shall be located prior to excavation. A small drainpipe shall be installed to a nearby storm drain to drain the pit. Locate the pump and controller per the contract drawings. *Replace all curb/gutter and asphalt pavement to match existing depths and grades.
