Description

This contract will provide for the comprehensive certification, by an external accrediting body, of the geographically dispersed Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration’s 34 Radiation Oncology Departments. The accrediting body will review and evaluate the radiation oncology facility, equipment, personnel qualifications, patient treatment records and planning, safety, and quality control procedures by a peer review mechanism. The accrediting body will ascertain whether these radiation oncology programs comply with existing federal regulations, rules, laws and professional practice standards. This certification program will provide the veterans and VA’s stakeholders with the seal of high quality and compliance in VHA’s Radiation Oncology programs.
